A referral for Podiatry is not usually required.
A referral is required from your GP if:

  • You are a Department of Veteran Affairs card holder (Gold & White).
  • Your GP has recommended a treatment plan under the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Program
  • If you have appropriate cover on your health insurance you will be able to claim a rebate for your consultations and orthotics.
  • It is STRONGLY advised that you check with your health fund prior to your appointment.
  • Wear comfortable clothing such as
    shorts/tracksuit pants.
  • Bring your current footwear (casual,
    exercise/sport, work shoes).
  • Any referrals or letter from your GP or health
    practitioner.
  • If you have X-rays, ultrasounds or other imaging
    related to the pain you are experiencing, please
    bring these with you.
  • Please bring a list of the medications that
    you take.
  • Your private health insurance card.
  • At Achy Feet Podiatry we do not bulk bill Medicare EPC appointments.
  • You will be expected to pay the consultation price on the day which can be done through our HICAPS terminal.
  • This will then allow Medicare to reimburse you $52.95 into your nominated bank account.
